Mount Hardy Cu

TNG has further expanded its Northern Territory copper exploration portfolio after securing a new Exploration Licence in the Mt Doreen area including known occurrences of copper mineralization with grades from recent rock chip sampling of up to 21% Cu.
The new EL, which covers a total area over 220km2, was explored for base metals in the 1980s and 1990’s by companies including Normandy/Posgold, BHP Minerals Pty Ltd and Tanami Gold NL, returning numerous anomalous results.

The tenement covers the highly prospective Lander Group, which hosts copper and gold mineralization in the area.
The new projects represent a significant addition to TNG’s Northern Territory minerals portfolio, providing an exciting new exploration target for copper alongside its highly prospective 100%-owned McArthur copper project and the Mount Peake Project licences, where significant copper mineralisation also occurs near its large vanadium deposit.
The Company plans to accelerate its copper exploration activities in 2012, alongside its plans to progress the Mount Peake Vanadium Project
Mount Hardy ELA 29219
The Mount Hardy Copper Project is located within the historical Mount Hardy Copper Field, approximately 300km north-west of Alice Springs. The project area is situated on the Mount Doreen (SF52-12) and Mount Theo (SF52-08) 1:250,000-scale sheets. Access to the Mount Hardy tenement is via the Tanami Highway.
The Mount Hardy target area is approximately 3km north of the historic Mount Hardy Copper Field, which is located within the Ngadarunga Hills, 30km northwest of the Yuendumu community.
The Mount Hardy copper workings are hosted within the Lander Group comprising Lander Group schists and Reynolds Range Group quartzites which occur in the licence area and potentially extend under unexplored areas covered by transported sand and gravels.
